This image is a fine example of what happens when you end up in a dark bar late at night with a Hasselblad 501cm, a roll of Ilford HP5 film and the only light is coming from the floor standing lamp. After speaking to the “gastgeber” of Carlito’s bar (Ohlmüllerstraße 11, Munich) it quickly became apparent that he appreciated old Hasselblad cameras, black and white photography and fine art. He vanished, left us all alone in the bar for 5 mins before returning with his own printed black and white portfolio built up together with his father. Incredible work dating from the 1970’s. He then delightfully introduced us to Tanqueray 0.0 for my first alcohol free G&T (oh man, tastes like the real deal). His business card says “DIE WELT IST VIELSEITIG_Wir sind es auch”, and he certainly is. Thank you for the good times, Mr Caius Prien.
